The Pirates of Spanish Bay

Each October the Halloween season begins as the house on the corner of Spanish Bay transforms into the Grand Ship Ferdinand, a real life pirate ship complete with pirates, interactive scenes, and live-firing smoke ring cannons. Come enjoy the fun and whimsy of our pirate crew on board and on land. If you’re lucky, you may even be able to come aboard and test your cannon firing skills!

2024 PIRATES OF SPANISH BAY

Outstanding Creative Decorating

The Pirates of Spanish Bay 2024 display. Back in port for 2024, the Pirates of Spanish Bay featured a new treasure digging scene, a new captain at the helm with a real animated ships wheel!  A new brig for any rum soaked pirates was also introduced this season with a number of new animations in the graveyard.  And the cannons and candy chute are all back!  Please turn the sound on for full effect!

Animated Effects

We build and create all of the props ourselves, including our real life drinking pirates. We enjoy coming up with new scenes each year, adding to the fun of years’ past designs.

Make sure to come by every year to see what is new!

The Grand Ship Ferdinand and the Pirates of Spanish Bay come to life every October for the Halloween season at the hands of the creative Stoecklin and Hamlin family.  All props and scenes are designed, crafted, and self built.  Each scene is meticulously and sustainably electrified for viewing at any hour and is illuminated after sunset.  No batteries are used in our display. On Halloween night starting at 6pm, kids of any age are welcomed to enjoy our unique candy delivery system.

The three of us are overjoyed to give this gift to the community each year.  We sincerely appreciate the Jackson Hills community as well as the greater local Happy Valley community who assists us in seeking out and procuring some of the unique parts and pieces we need to complete our displays.  We appreciate the thoughtfulness of those who would like to donate monetarily to the Pirates of Spanish Bay, but it is not necessary.  This display is our gift to the community and we welcome each and every one of you to enjoy this completely free, completely self funded event.  You are the treasure.
